MODULE 7 UNIT of Introduction to Batteries and Battery Maintenance

Students will be introduced to each version of the test and the requirements for pretest and posttest actions will be covered. They will then be shown how to establish the correct discharge rate for a fictitious battery and application when the importance of understanding how the battery was originally sized as demonstrated in lesson three will become very apparent. The method by which the discharge test is carried out will be covered in detail and the method by which a failed cell can be bypassed to allow the test to be completed will be explained. Based on a set of data from the fictitious battery discharge, the actual capacity of the battery will be determined.
